Check if you meet Federal Skilled Worker criteria: 1+ year skilled work experience (NOC TEER 0, 1, 2, or 3), CLB 7 English, and sufficient funds.
Practical tip: Use the official IRCC eligibility tool at canada.ca for a quick check.
Take IELTS General Training or CELPIP. You need CLB 7 minimum (IELTS 6.0 in each band) for Federal Skilled Worker eligibility.
Practical tip: CELPIP is Canada-specific and accepted by IRCC — results in 8 business days.
Have your foreign education credentials assessed by a IRCC-designated body (e.g., WES) to earn CRS education points.
Practical tip: WES is the most recognized ECA body. Start early as processing can take 7–10 weeks.
Submit your profile to the Express Entry pool. You will receive a Comprehensive Ranking System (CRS) score. Top-ranked candidates receive Invitations to Apply (ITAs) in regular draws.
Practical tip: CRS score above 470 significantly increases chances. Provincial nominations add 600 bonus points.
After receiving an ITA, you have 60 days to submit a complete PR application through your IRCC account including all documents, medical exams, and police certificates.
Practical tip: Keep all documents ready before applying — missing documents can invalidate your application.
