All residents registered in the National Registry (Folkeregisteret) and contributing to NAV are covered. Work permit holders must register with the local municipality upon arrival and obtain a Norwegian ID number. Coverage begins upon registration.
Private supplementary insurance: Gjensidige Helseforsikring, IF Helseforsikring, Storebrand. Monthly cost: NOK 200-500.
