Background: Software Engineer, 7 years experience, University of Moratuwa graduate. Timeline: - Jan 2024: Skills assessment with ACS (result in 10 weeks) - Mar 2024: IELTS — scored 8.0/8.0/7.5/7.5 - Apr 2024: Submitted EOI with 90 points - Apr 2024: Received invitation within 3 days (STEM round) - May 2024: Lodged full application - Nov 2024: Medical examination - Mar 2025: Visa granted! Tips: Start your ACS skills assessment early. IELTS is crucial — aim for Proficient English minimum. STEM category rounds invite lower CRS scores.

How long does UAE work visa really take in 2025?

My employer in Dubai says they will start the visa process next month. They told me 2 weeks but I have heard it can take longer. Anyone done it recently? I am a civil engineer in the construction sector. Also do I need to do the medical in Sri Lanka first or in Dubai?
